I recently finished out the remaining area of our basement. I also used 2 x 4 stud walls with pressure treated plates, placed about 1/2 " off of the concrete walls. I then had an insulation company spray a 1 1/2- 2" layer of closed cell insulation directly on the concrete and behind the stud walls, followed by spraying cellulose out to the front of the studs. It cost about $1900 to cover 1100 + square feet, including spraying extra thick around the sill plate.
This is the most comfortable area of our home, and has me totally sold on using this method. I wish my whole house was done this way, but we didn't build it.
