I have JD 935 mower with a Yanmar engine. It was run out of fuel the other day and I'm having a heck of a time getting it going again. There is a bleed screw on the fuel filter to bleed the primary low pressure side which I did and I've got all the lines cracked on the pump and I'm getting no fuel. I've had to do this before and got it going but no luck this time. These tiny pumps move so little fuel it seems they're very hard to bleed.

On my Yanmar there was a bleader valve on the filter and one on the pump. After bleading both it fired right up. If you do not have the JD manual get one. It explains in detail how to do this.

Not sure about yours, the Yanmar tractors have 2 bleeder screws on the filter. You have to bleed both of them the one on the fuel tank side first then the one on the pump side, then the one by the pump. So yours may be different than that, so thats all I can tell you.

My YM2020, 3 cylinder, has a spring loaded bleeder on the filter and a spring loaded bleeder on the injector pump. Does not take a screwdriver, just push it. My YM 1700, 2 cylinder, has two on filter and one on injector pump, these need a screwdriver.

loosen your fuel bowl and then retighten. This will break the vacuum which is preventing the fuel from flowing.
