Over the next couple of days we are suspose to get 15" - 18" of snow and 55mph winds. I love it when it snows so I can play on the tractor. However I think this is going to take all the fun out of it. The last time I remember a storm like this was in 79. We had snow drifts 15' tall and no electricity for 4 days. I will be getting the generator and tractor ready.

they are calling for 10" of snow between now and wednesday, im sick of the snow id rather play in the dirt instead of the snow. I haven't seen grass (except when i go a little deep with the FEL:() since late november.

I'm not worried about the snow. I have a cab tractor to play with...:D

It's the heavy ice accumulation that will be the problem here first.

I am getting fairly sick of the snow also. I have a 2.5 mile driveway that I have to keep open. We get plenty of snow,22ft. last year. It isn't so much the snow as it is the wind. I plow it and it blows shut at night. This usually continues for 3-4 days after each big snowfall.

:(They are saying freezing rain/sleet tomorrow, 12 inches snow by wednesday and high wind with subzero temps by thursday here in eastern Kansas. I'd rather play in dirt, then watch something grow. Did sescnick say 22 feet of snow??? That's the major league of snow.

Nothing like central IL I can see about 6 mile out my front window great till it snows. I can't imagine the fun I will have with this storm of only as last one about 6 inches the township had hard time with local roads.:D
Storms like this make the july 100 degree days a little less hot.

it is the ice that is impossible to address we learned in 2009. It came one night and left the next day but some were out of power for nearly a month.

We hit near 60 today with sun until mid afternoon so the roads picked up some solar energy over the last three days which will be good since ice is forecasted here too but the low temps are to come after the rain moves out thankfully.

Ya know I haven't heard from Al Gore in a few years.
I live in southern Indiana and we could get a couple inches of ice or just rain. I'm hoping for the rain. Tradition says we dont get our ice storm until the end of February first part of March, during the High School basketball sectional play offs.

Tilled up a garden area this last weekend to plant my onions. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were BEAUTIFUL! Sunday it hit 77 degrees. Forcasters say today a high in the 50's and then Wednesday through Friday highs in the lower 30's. Seat time this weekend included grading the driveway. Changed all the oil in the lawnmowers, tiller, generator/welder etc getting ready for spring. Bet that pesky ground hog sees his shadow and gives us more winter this year! This cold-hot-cold weather is wild.
