Kubota BX2200
Attached find a picture of the D905-E engine block,The bolt (ref.#220 ) can be replaced with a block drain in order to better facilitate the coolant change every two years.

The Kubota part number for this drain cock assembly is as follows:15841-73020 approximate cost is around $3.65 each.

I had asked the Dealer forever to find out if this bolt could be utilized to drain the block but I never got an answer to My question until I called Suwanee and a Rep there was nice enough to investigate this and call me back with a part number.

Maybe some of You are interested in doing the same thing.

That is located on the right hand side of the engine when sitting in the seat, directly below the block heater hole. The original drawing shows a gasket being used with this plug and there are two different gaskets used, depending on the engine serial number. I wonder if you need a gasket to use the drain plug? Usually when a gasket is used, the threads are straight cut, not tapered like pipe threads. I wouldn't make this modification unless I was ready to change the anti freeze first, in case the drain isn't proper for this hole. This is one of those times that I would want the part in my hand long beforehand to examine before I started, and figure out exactly what will be needed to complete the job. Usually drain plugs are tapered threads, not straight machine threads. Thanks for researching the part number. Even if I don't install a drain cock, it is still good to know where to drain the block....

Well I ordered two of the drain cocks, as Mine is due this fall for a coolant change.

The parts pdf I have call for reference (230) to be a gasket under the bolt head. I may just order the gaskets as well to be on the safe side. The gasket is part # 04714-00200, which is a copper gasket, more than likely a copper washer.

I won't pass judgement on whether the drain cock is wrong for this or not Paul until I see what shows.

The B2400's have a drain cock in the radiator and the block as well connected by hoses.
I understand it is a completely different engine but the block castings are similar in several ways.

I should have the cocks on Friday afternoon & and will let You know what they have.

The Kubota rep gave me the part number for the drain cock, so We will see what it has when it arrives.

I received the drain cock today and it does have tapered threads, so , I ordered the plug just to see what kind of threads it has, I should have it by the middle of the week.

You mentioned this plug calling for two different gaskets depending on the serial number. Where did You find this information? I have looked at all the manuals I have and have not seen this particular piece of information.

Thanks,

LMAO,

No duel here Paul. I just want to get to the bottom of this before I make the changes, if I make them at all.

Hadn't thought of the Duke boys in forever /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
