I have a BC CT 225 and going to install a block heater. Was wondering if anyone has done this before on same size tractor and what kind of sealant to put on it.heard Loctite was good, but a lot of different kinds there.

My recommendation is a Loctite (or equivalent) retaining compound. I used Loctite 620 (i think) when i installed mine. I'm sure many of the other retaining compounds would work fine for this application though if you happen to have them lying around (609, 603, 668, 635, 638, 680, 641).

I was thinking about installing one as well, I live in northern Indiana, will be storing mine in a barn that is well sealed, standard 2x6 construction, 10 year old unheated barn.

Do you all think I even need one?
This will be my first winter and never had a diesal before so I do not know

Yes I would install one, just makes the ole diesel engine start a lot easier and prolongs its life.

I got the one from bobcat in place of them fixing a scratch from the dealer (it's a tractor for goodness sake) If I remember correctly the correct loctite # is in the installation instructions. I ended up using another brand equivalent. The thing about it to remember is that it is not the same stuff you put on bolts--it is called "sleeve retainer" or something like that. I used an impact wrench socket and tapped ever so gently and steadily and it slid right in.

Good luck--I also got a timer rated for 15 amps at walmart in the christmas section to turn it on about 90 minutes before I plow in the morning. At 300 watts I did not want it on any longer that needed.

Do you sell magnetic sump heaters? Do you recommend magnetic heaters?
I would say that here in CT we are only occasionally under 20 degrees when is snows.

We do have the blanket heater in stock but I never put one on. I think you would have a hard time with one fitting on these tractors as the oil pan is small and split for the drive shaft.
I had guys use these blanket types for their fuel tanks.

I have the Kioti version of the CT230. Under 20, I just run the glow plugs twice and it never fails to start easily. I just give it an @10 minute warm up at a fast idle, @12-1300rpm, before I put it to work.
