I still had a full tank of B90 (near pure Biodiesel) going into winter.

I have tried B20 in mine but will have to wait till winter to see how it goes.we dont get snow and the rest of it like you guys, about 3 deg C would be the lowest we would see here.I would like to try B50 or so but in service stations all i can get is 20 (not a big mover here Bio diesel) i did notice lower smoke emissions using bio but other than that nothing at this stage (still just as noisy!!) and with the current temps (44 deg C today and sofar no major fire threats) i dont think i will have too much trouble starting her up!

Bennet where in NE are you from and what do you think about this nasty cold weather were having in the cornhusker state??

Im in Columbus and weve had a quite a few below 0 days and without the thermostart, starting my 1610D is impossible, most of the time when Ive been moving snow with it, I let it run all day especially if the wind is blowing.....an extra gallon of diesel is well worth keeping the engine warm if you need to use it and have some breaks between snow piles.

There is a really interesting thread on here about the TS, you will definitely learn alot from the guys on here. Very smart folks on here with alot of experience.

Most of us are on here to help fellow Yanmar owners. That is what this forum is all about and the people on here are pretty Darn good at it:cool: With that being said here is my help for today on the TS. I posted earlier that I had never had to use my TS. but I new it was mostly there. Well I was able to get out to day and hook it up with some old parts that I had in the shop.

Does the TS work absolutely Yes. Without a doubt started like it was 90 deg. outside but really only in the High twenty's low thirtys at best today.I Ran the Decompression until the oil pressure came up put power to it for about 10 sec. and just bumped the starter and it fired right up. I new my TS plug was there but wasn't hooked up and was curious if it worked. So I am going to share with you Carey's Ghetto rigged on the cheap Self priming, Quick connect TS. that works great. Put it in the gas tank give it a little squeeze to suck in some diesel slip back on thats it :D:D

Hehehe, makes me laugh this cold morning! I remember the day it probably would have been called something else. "Ghetto rigged".....Every time I read that I can't help but chuckle for some reason!
Have a good one Carey

Whats up Darryl.
Now tell me this forum doesn't have all kinds of useful information on it. Just think how much aggravation it would have saved Democrat Harry Reid if he frequented it.:D:p

Carey, I took the breather off and tried the TS and saw nothing happen. I'm getting fuel (pretty sure) from the cup, so I wonder if there is a loose wire somewhere. So, what you saying is I could jumper a wire from the pos. terminal on the battery to where the power goes to the TS to see if it is burned out or not? Please let me know as this may fix my problems (or atleast give me something else to look for!). Thanks

Yes Bennet. That is what I did. First to even see if the glow plug Ignited.Ran a wire from the Pos. from the Battery to the small hole in the pic.. I.m just missing the screw. I seen some smoke then I used piece of old vacume hose to put some fuel to it next and fired it up again. Started like a champ. I used it again today no problem.

Carey, I tried that tonight and it didn't do anything. I also turned the key to the TS position and grounded out the wire hooked to the glow plug, and it sparked, so it has power. I must just need a new glow plug??? I looked through Hoye and didn't see what I was looking for. Am I not looking in the right area??? If you happen to have a link to what I'm looking for, could you please post it? Thanks.

On Hoyes website look under the electric section, it is there. Hopefully here is a link to it.
