Block Heater for 320 Skid Steer

Hi All,

So fresh off my successful 2520 block heater installation, my friend who has a 320 Skid Steer wants my assistance installing a BH. We have checked the available parts for this model and find the following ...



The style of this heater is quite different from the one I just installed in my 2520. Is this a heater that goes in a coolant line? It has us puzzled ...

Seems you will need to find out where that adapter fitting # 2 goes, as it looks like it is a one-bolt clamp to hold it against the 0-ring.

Frost plug, maybe?

That's what I was thinking. On a 2305 that I did a few years back, however, the adapter fastened with 2 hex head cap screws. This just looks different! Don't want to make a goof here as he needs this machine every day.

this heater goes into the block. Keep in mind you are working on two very different engines. The 2320 has a yanmar power plant and the 320 skid is a Deere power plant. This particular kit is still a factory order item instead of a parts item so takes slightly longer for the dealer to recieve. It will come with pretty good instructions on where to install.

The heater is installed on the 320 Skid. It went pretty straightforward ... No visible leaks after refilling the radiator and running. There are single digit temps expected for the middle of the coming week so it will be put to the test!
