MajMac392 Mine is on the left side . I belive your block is different then mine. Mine has the S3L2 engine. And the plug hole is not threaded.

NED, interesting. I thought the S3L was my series, not sure why. My freeze plugs are definitely on the right side. I also thought the 2615 was the engine that 'grew' out of the 23HP model from the older Mit. Cub motors. Does the heater work well, i.e. faster starts, not slow turning over? How does the freeze plug heater install. Is it tapped in with a hammer, like you would a freeze plug or does it somehow mechanically expand in the hole? Any leakage around it? Thanks.

MajMAC392 You have the K3G-D engine witch is direct injection. Mine is indirect.
The heater works ok but it really doesn't get the engine very worm even when plugged in for 6 hours. Now as far as the tractor starting it starts fine even down to 15 deg. without the heater plugged in and 4sec. on the glow plugs.Very little smoke.
The heater has a Oring on the probe so it doesn't leak and the heater is held in place with a bolt that goes in a bossed out threaded hole right above the freeze plug hole.
