Does anyone have any experience with a block heater application for a Kubota B1750HST D? I have searched all of the block heater companies and cannot find any detailed information that provides a specific heater with detailed installation information. Thanks in advance. Text, pics and/or videos are appreciated.

I've had very good luck with lower radiator hose heaters.

I have them on two tractors. The Hurlimann, and the Kubota B7200. The Fordson is a gas engine, and the Bolens is air cooled ;-) They come in all sizes to fit the hoses. (IF THERE IS ROOM!)

Plugged in 1/2 to 1 hour on the coldest days, and the tractors start right up (Coldest means Zero F unless I need to blow snow when it's colder than that)

Added bonus! Cheap! And available at the local car parts.

There are a few on eBay that list your machine if you trust their claims. Kubota has a more universal block heater that the element threads into a sleeve that pounds into the freeze plug hole. The element is flush with the sleeve, so it fits into practically (?) any freeze plug location. You would just need to confirm the freeze plug size on your block, and the sleeve size. I installed this type on my L3410 and L4060 without issue.

I doubt that a lower radiator hose could be installed due to lack of space. Not much room in a B1750.

Have you consulted your Kubota dealer?

Thanks CalG. Lower radiator hose heaters are a good option. Finding space under the engine cowling is a problem. I may be able to route the hose outside the cowling where there is room.

Thanks SDT - I emailed Kubota corporate last week and they said they would respond. Haven't heard back yet. The closest Kubota dealer is 100 miles away, but they may have some good advice. I'll call them.

Thanks RjCorazza - I'd really like to use the freeze plug block heater because there is less plumbing and once it is properly installed, there is less potential for leaks. I only have one freeze plug (left front freeze plug) that will allow access for a block heater installation. I would like to use the left middle plug for better heat distribution, but there is not enough room between the freeze plug and the starter. I can remove the starter for installation in the middle freeze plug, but I won't be able to reinstall the starter due to the block heater. Using the front left freeze plug is an option, but heat distribution will not be as even as the middle left plug. The block heater suppliers recommend installing them in the right middle freeze plug, but there is no space for a block heater on that right side. Installing in the left front freeze plug location may be best, even though heat distribution will be uneven. It'll take more time to warm the block before starting.

My L4060 block heater is not in the recommended location. I think it's in the left front. I suspect there is some uneven heating, however, after 3 hours or so (sweet spot IMHO) the entire block is warm.
The newer diesels start very easy in cold weather without block heat, but I still like pre heating when I know I'll be using the tractor. Plus I get cab heat faster.

Thanks again RjCorazza. Even with uneven heating, leaving it connected longer to heat the engine should be less wear on the engine and much easier to start. Took another look at my B1750 and the left front freeze plug is the only reasonable location for a block heater. We stay below freezing for several of the winter months and frequently dip into the single digits and below zero F a few times. I'll also put a heater on my battery. No boosting necessary during the warmer months, but I have to boost it during winter. A battery heater should eliminate boosting.

I also use the freeze plug block heater on my L5030 and it makes a huge difference in winter starting. I also installed a battery blanket. What I like the best though is the remote starter I installed. Instead of walking out in deep snow to a cold tractor I hit the button and sit back down and have breakfast and then walk out to a warm cab. However, it's not just the cab being warm it's also the engine oil and hydraulics.
