Block Heater for Mitsubishi S4L 1.5L Engine

My Montana R2844 has a 4 cylinder Mitsubishi S4L 1.5L Engine. I am interested in putting an engine block heater to make starts easier when temps get down to 0. I can't find any information on what size freeze plug the engine has, and what engine block heater would fit. This engine is used in many applications, so I am hoping someone has a tractor or other equip with this engine and can point me in the right direction.

Plan B is to use a coolant hose heater, but I would prefer a block heater. Thanks!

I added a hose heater to my JD 5300 21 years ago. Like you, not my first choice; but it does a great job. Here we only have a few weeks of extreme cold (below 10 d F). I try to plug it in 1 hour before starting. It is remarkable how warm things are then and how quickly the engine starts. Good decision IMO!

All those engins have 'frost plugs' in the block castings.
You simply need to measure the diameter of the hole and order the proper size.
My Mitsu is a 3 cylinder (K3) and the proper location is behind the oil filter.

You drain coolant, pound a screwdriver into the 'tin' frost plug and pry it out.

Most probably the frost plug manufacturer will have the specs for your engine, probably listed under S4L in their catalogue. Go on line and search. Carter is one brand.
