Can someone take a picture of your block heater on your engine and post it? I want to add the heater and I am not sure where it goes. For $30 I figure it is cheap insurance for a long lasting engine. The BX really was hard to start when it was 0-5F this year, not to mention the wear on the engine. Thanks for your help in advance.

NY_Yankees_Fan,
Picture without heater installed is attached. The hex plug is removed and the heater installed in its place.

Sorry, its the large hex socket between the oil filter and starter motor. I think that if you do a search on "block heater" you may find a thread with install instructions for the bx2200 posted earlier this winter. Good luck..

Great!, thanks for the arrow. Now all I have to do is figure out how I am going to get that plug out. It looks pretty tight place to work in. Guess this will be done at the 100 hour oil and filter change, just 4 hours away. The way this winter is going that will be next week /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The block heater replaces a 17 mm plug. If you don't have a 17mm allen wrench, I got mine at Sears hardware. It is not a hard job to change, takes all of maybe 20 minutes. When you buy the block heater, it comes with directions and pictures in them. With this years cold temps. the block heater is well worth it!

Tom: ....I guess I should have included this photo in the "B series Block Heater Install & Pix" thread, showing the tools I used for removal of the 17mm engine plug. The bottom of the photo shows the assembled 17mm socket / 14"breakerbar / pipe extension combo that I used to extract it easily. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ...RayBee
