Does anyone here know if a block heater was ever offered for the D1101A 3 cylinder engine used in the L245/L2201 ? If so , where is it available from ? I have compression release and glo-plugs , but heated engine would also help in the winter and would help prolong engine life too by slightly heating the block/oil . Winter is approaching quick !!!

I don't know about that specific engine but I can't believe that there isn't one available. My F2400 has one and I would think the engines are very similar.

Where is it mounted ? In a freeze plug hole ? In a threaded hole some where ? In the block or in the head ? Dimention ? Diamater ? Factory or after market ?

It's mounted in the side of the block to the front of the starter motor. I am reasonably sure it is threaded. I don't know if it factory or not. I will have a close look in the morning and try to give you more details.

I had a look. I thought of taking a picture but you wouldn't see much. It is threaded - quite large, possibly 26 - 28 mm. It is between the starter motor and the oil pressure sender switch. I have no idea if it is original equipment, but it looks like it could be. I keep my tractor inside dduring hte witer so I have never used it and don't know if it works. I may try it this later this far out of curiosity.
