Been doing some mowing with my new 10' cutter. Grass is pretty high and as I drive over it, all the little seeds come off and clog the radiator screen. All I have to do is tap on it a few times and it all falls off (not sure where it goes from there yet). It gets really clogged up really fast. Anyone have similar problem or got a suggestion? I watch the temp gauage and as it gets close to the red, I stop the tractor, let it run a minute or so, shut down and tap on the screen and clean the outside of the tractor.

Slippy, I'm afraid that's a very common problem no matter what brand of tractor you have. I usually could mow 2 or 3 hours between radiator cleaning, but that would vary with the type of grass you're cutting and the height of it, I'm sure. You might try adding a fine mesh screen over the front end of the tractor; that seems to work for some and others just clean it off frequently.

I have encountered the same thing, interval of cleaning variable depending on conditions. I can hog for two or three hours in plain prarie grass with no trouble, but I cut a friends place that was really overgrown and had lots of tall weedy stuff. The little seeds would accumulate faster and had to clean the screen three or four times, about every 45 minutes. I guess it is the cost of ahving fun /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Chet
