Blower chute acuator repair

Actuator to elevate my blower (MF2360) now only works in one direction, is this possible to repair. If not I did see another thread that showed a possible generic actuator that could be used instead if anyone has info on that.

Just wondering ,is your switch putting out power both ways possibly a broken wire or??? it seems kinda funny that it only powers one way.Have you checked to make sure it's not a electrical problem rather then the actuator itself.

I actually removed it from the machine and hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it works with wires hooked up one way but if I reverse polarity does nothing. I was hoping it we a short between switch etc but with this result does not appear so or am I mistaken?

Is the actuator a screw type? Some of those actuators have limit switches built in to the rear of them. See it it can a removable cover on the rear of the screw. My past experience with actuators is the limit switches can go bad and allow one direction. Most actuator are 12 - 18v dc. The mechanical limit switches prevents damaging from over extending.
