Now that I am the owner of a NH tractor and really feel like a member of the NH family I can't help but envy all the Kubota activity on their forum. I have mentioned this in the past and it sure would be nice to see ALL YOU New Holland Owners increase your activity on the NH site. Is it that most NH owners really do have a LIFE?????

As a JD NH and Kubota Owner I don't feel this site is separate, I always check all the posts. I suppose if you're just looking for recall info or something then restricting yourself to just one forum is appropriate, but there is a constant barrage of great info from all the different "colors" of folks on this board.

IMHO,

banjobj,
It kinda comes and goes one might say.
For a while Kubota was the main talk than wham...New Holland tractor were being purchase right and left...than back to Kubota than wham...John Deere were being purchase right and left etc..

As most of us found out from other tractor websites,TBN is home only do to respect & knowledge & caring for one another.

Maybe the NH owners are out getting some seat time. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Like del, I try to read all the messages because so much of the information, even on the forums for brands we don't own, applies to all of us.

I also try to read them all. If it helps, choosing o view he "past 12 (or 24 or 48)" rather than by forum makes it easier for me. Maybe everyone has already figured it out. It took me a while & i was somewhat awkward by catagory/forum... Any more I don't always notice which forum it is in...

Banjobi,
I usually read the NH followed by Kubota and occasionally JD forums. I don't comment too much because I don't have a NH yet but I guess you could say I have a 50yo predecessor to NH. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I'm going to be in the market this year, I hope, or early next year for a new tractor and follow with great interest peoples experience with pricing, buying and owning them. Of course, now Case is coming along with another alternative too. Did you look at those models? I can't tell from the other posts if they are even for sale yet. From what I can tell they basically only vary in color, nameplate and SS and maybe a few minor other things, at least with the 25-45hp tractors. BTW congratulations on your new purchase.

Del, are you the same Dell who posts on Yesterday's Tractors? If so, thanks for all the advice the past 1 1/2 years!

Grant, the new Case line that looks like red Boomers is for sale all right; been on the dealer's lot for quite some time in this area.

Grant,

I am guilty of the same thing. I often just look and see what has been posted in the last 12 hours and check them all out. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I with youse guys -- anyone who confines themselves to a single color forum on this board is cheating themselves out of a lot of interesting and useful information. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

To All, Thanks for the response. I also don't confine myself to ONE COLOR or TOPIC. I do find that many brands DO share common features, traits, problems, etc. I WILL NEVER AGAIN MENTION THE LACK OF ACTIVITY ON THE NEW HOLLAND SITE!!!!!

banjobj, I think I know how you feel. When I first came on board this site, I wondered the same thing myself. It's not a matter of limiting oneself to a certain color. It just seems as if there is not as much activity in this section. I guess NH owners are not as gabby as other tractor owners. I'm an exception to that rule.

ERNIEB,
"are not as gabby as other tractor owners" maybe thats do to the weather conditions and honey do list.
Heck last night Harv kinda lock himself in his office because his wife didn't want to go north because of the weather.
Up here its just plan icy w/deep snow.
Down in Texas area the ground soggy and not much tilling time.
So what else is there to do but drink coffee..have a cold one..pm the tractor & equipment...oh yeah forgot to mention stay out of the way because someone still having a bad hair day. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Yep TBN a great cure for the winter blues.

Another early morning oil change flat on my back under the little Kubota, laying on cold concrete with an air temp of minus ten. The puppy being "helpful" by retrieving frozen turds and dropping them next to my head! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif If someone ever invents a tractor that can change its own oil I don't care WHAT COLOR it is, I'll buy one!

In the meanwhile, I'm sure enjoying that new Kubota L3010...as well as reading all posts regardless of color!

Boondox,

Hey at least they were frozen /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif!! I think New Holland is working on the self changing oil thing /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif! Hey I think JC Ghipme has one of those oil changers that you stick down the dip stick tube and just draw it out. Shouldn't take more than 4 hrs judging the size of the dip stick tube! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Boondox,
I was changing the oil today on one of our cars, but the temp. is about 40. My fingers don't work at -10!

Say, what made you go with the L3010 over the TC29 or 33 or JD4300? I think you had your tractor shipped from Carvers so it wasn't the local dealer who made the difference. Approx. how much was the shipping, if you don't mind my asking?
Also, if you already answered these questions somewhere else, could you direct me there? Thanks.

Boondox,

Geez that was funny. Nothing quite like the gifts that a pet brings you. Of course I have my own problems. My 1 year old basset hound is fixed but he dosen't seem to know it. If he had a motto I think it would be, "So many legs... so little time."

Peter, I have a rat terrier that's better than the "Adopt a Highway" program for gathering up all the trash from the borrow ditches and bringing it up in the yard. And he literally chews aluminum beer cans up into little pieces and darned if I can see how he can do that without cutting his mouth.

The NH wasn't an option because my nearest dealer is quite a ways off. The JD4300 was actually my favorite by a hair, mainly because of the fantastic visibility from the seat, and I really liked the dealer, but Carver's L3010 (gently used) with better implements and rear hydraulics was about $3600 less. Not sure about the shipping since it was a package deal.

Forty degrees! Wow! We'll see that about three months!

Not a good way to start the day by laying on a cement floor at -10,for we aren't getting younger Pete.

Looks like snowstorm tomorrow for your L3010,and how are those tire chains working out on the ice when plowing.

Thomas..NH /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thomas -- Those chains are magnificent! I've been getting in plenty of FEL practice moving my mountains of snow, and not once have I slipped. Speaking of FELs, I'm baffled by the results of the snowplowing pole. I can't understand how so many people can say that an FEL is better at plowing snow than a rear blade!!! I wonder how much snow those folks get every year..?
