Hi All,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've diversified my tractor holdings. Case JX85 was delivered Thursday and got some seat time today. I'm both blue and red now. Here's a picture with more over on the Case board. I'm really having fun shifting again, especially with the turbo!

Thanks for the help on the purchase,

Yeah, 84 HP, 70+ at the PTO. After buying my TC40D I soon realized that I bought too small and was determined not to make that mistake again. Probably went a bit overboard but too early to tell yet. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Doesn't <font color="blue"> BLUE </font> plus <font color="red"> RED </font> equal <font color="purple"> PURPLE </font> ?

Bob, I think you have your math wrong:

<font color="blue"> Blue </font> + <font color="red"> Red </font> = <font color="green"> $$$Green$$$</font>

Nice tractor, Tom. I can't wait to see some shots of that grapple in action. I'd bet you find out you really feel like you are driving a tank with that JX85. It is so much bigger, you just can't go the same places as the TC40. The cab also is very nice. The only trouble is you need a whole new set of bigger implements to go along with all that power and weight. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, I've already noticed that. It is a completely different experience driving the JX - tank is an accurate description. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I actually like the 12 speed shuttle vs. the hydro, but I haven't done much load work. Will probably leave most of the loader work for the TC40. After putting a couple of hours on it yesterday, my thoughts were: "Man, this thing is bigger than I thought." Heck, I already tore off the cover to one of the turn signals in the brush. The primary purpose for this tractor, though, is for haying and other "farm-type" work. It's first implement was an 8' disc mower and the next one will be a baler. Will get a rake for use with the TC40.

It does present a dilemma, though, when looking a new implements. Do I size it for the TC or the JX? A disc and 3-pt sprayer are examples of what I'll need soon. Hmmm, maybe, I need a tractor in the 65 HP range too. Yeah, then I'd have everything covered. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It is not a hard problem to solve. If you plan on doing a lot of tillage work get a 12' disc for the JX. You can get a 3pt boom sprayer to work behind the TC or the JX or get a trailer mounted sprayer and you can still use it behind both.

Do you already have a baler and rake?
