I always thought if Bobcat (or anyone else) could put an optional 3pt lift and rear PTO (hydraulically driven) on a skidsteer, they would replace most compact tractors. The front end of a skidsteer is light, but if the wheel base was extended slightly and get the engine placed just ahead of the rear axle, it would probably work. I would certainly buy one. Do just the rear wheels turn or can all 4 turn? Wheels that turn would eliminate a lot of the issues of tearing up the ground/turf.
They are smooth, but I will keep my compact as for what I use mine for, the CUT is much, much easier to get onto (into) and off of (out of) than a skidsteer. Also, the larger tires make for a MUCH smoother ride. But each has its place, I am sure.
My main concern would be getting belly hung in mud or snow, for I seen this before..yikes /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
Ice would be another factor on a slope w/out all 4 tires chain up.

Saw my first 220 the other day, ran it around the yard a little seems like a real smooth unit, but thats more electrical and hydraulic controls to mess up lol.
Now they have the A300, a larger version of the AWS concept. I'm still trying to sell my NH to buy the A220, but this one seems like more/better, with 3000# ROC, vertical lift path, etc. Same engine, slightly wider, heavier, etc.
Does anyone know why it shows no Hi-flow aux hydraulics option? I noticed that is also applicable to the 963, biggest hoss in the stable there. Seems odd as HD as these are!

Not sure on the hi-flow option, may be they dont have room for a bigger pump needed for the hi-flow, its getting crowded in there, they already use a much larger hydrostatic pump than they used to, but at the same time it seems drive pressure is lower than the non-AWS models they dont seem to dig nearly as well as the skid-steer only models (in my opinion) but I dont have near the hours on the AWS as I do the skid-steer.

Re: Bobcat A220/300 new SSL
Hey Jim, I've not heard that rumor but there is quite a difference between the two, same engine and pump package (no the 300 wont dig either LOL) the 220 has radius lift boom arms and 2200 lb. operating capacity hence the 220 designation, the 300 has vertical lift boom arms and 3000 lb. capacity.
