Bobcat West in Oregon quoted me $92. and $8.95 for shipping to their location and I have to drive 120 miles to pick it up. This is for a hydrostatic transmission filter for my Bobcat CT335 (same as Kioti DK35HST) A Baldwin BT260-10 is an equivalant and sells locally for $10.41 and is a pretty red color.
I have been following the whole filter dilema for about a year. Filter prices have increased dramatically for OEM hydraulic filters. Why? Probably greed.
I will continue to ivestigate non-OEM filters for the expensisve ones. My testing will include pressure limit of the bypass valve, maximum flow rate, dimensions, and compilation of data into a cross-reference list. It will take a while as I obtain used filters from friends from a variety of machines.
Perhaps if we all start sending written, strongly worded complaints to the manufacturers they will eventually get the idea that we have already purchased to tractor and do not wish to be bilked for parts, especially third-party manufactured parts like filters.
Good luck to all of us.
