Bobcat Closes Plant, North Dakota

/ Bobcat Closes Plant, North Dakota #21
I have many friends and clients that are affected by this closure. It appears that it needed to be done to ensure the continued financial viability of Bobcat. I do know that due to union rules prevented them from rewarding excellence and firing non-performers. This is a drag on production and morale. I never have had a union job, and nor will I ever. I will succeed or fail on my own merits. As for the comment on poor people I hope that this type of flaming isn't tolerated on this typically friendly site. Good day.

I happen to work for Ingersoll Rand and we just had a discussion the other day on a corporate wide call that said they are based outside the US due to the taxes here being to high. Do I agree with it, maybe not but as one poster stated, a company is in business to make money. And even though many companies will say they value their employees, those days are over. It is ultimately about the money, not the workers.

Just an FYI, IR no longer owns Bobcat. Bobcat was sold in order to free up cash to buy Trane (who I work for). I believe as another poster stated, Doosan, a Korea based company now ownes Bobcat.
