Bobcat FEL's - 7TL, 8TL, 9TL what are your experiences?

The Kubota L3400 only has a lift capacity of 1,142lbs at the pins. The John Deere 3120 with 300CX loader is rated at 1,598lbs. The Bobcat CT335 is rated at 1,650lbs at the pins and 1,300lbs 500mm (19.68 inches) in front of the pins. If you need to lift pallets like that the CT440 is better rated for that at 2,600lbs at the pins and 2,050lbs 500mm in front.

To keep it fair the l3400 isn't really a good comparison as it is a size class smaller than the tractors you mentioned.

The L3400 falls into the class with the CK kioti's and the JD 3032 while the CT335 is in a class with the JD 3x20, DK kioti's, and the Grand L kubotas. I have compiled some breif loader specs for comparison

All lift weight are @ the pins

small class 30HP
CT235...........1605
CK35.............1155
JD3032..........1186
L3400............1142

Large class 30HP
CT335...........1650
DK35.............1412
JD3x20...........1598
L3540............1792

As you can see there isn't much difference when you stay in the same class of tractors. I will piont out however that the specs on the CT235 almost seem too go to be true. I don't know if it is a typo but lift specs only 45lbs below the CT335??? This is the same tractor that kioti only puts a 1155lbs capacity loader on. I wonder why????

True & False...
1,598 lbs is the rating at MAX Height....the 300cx on a 3x20 is rated to lift 2125lbs at 1.5m @ Pivot Pin... in English...it will lift at ton to 5 feet off the ground. Which is good enough for me, I dont typically need to lift ANYTHING higher then 5'

JD is the only one (to my knowledge) that even give the rating "to 59" which you are refering to. You got to compare apples to apples when compairing loaders. The most common spec, which he gave, is max height @ the Pins. JD just gives that measurement because it makes it looks like it will outlift another loader only rated 1600lbs to max height. It's all marketing.

That's correct! Published pecs for backhoe attachments are not easy
to compare either.

My new Bobcat CT230 is supposed to come with the 7TL FEL, which has
lower specs vs. my Kioti's KL130. I will compare them when the new
machine comes in. It will have the BobTach.

All these loaders lift LOTS more when down at lower heights AND you just
destroy your capacity by using those 500-600 lb pallet fork frames.

Here is a photo of me lifting 1400# of ceramic tile on a pallet that weighs
maybe 80#, on a fork frame that weighs 200#. That is 1680# (verified)
that I could barely lift off the bed of my PU. Note that I can also lift even
more by using the curl function of my loader, which I have enhanced by
increasing the bucket pin spacing. After 4.5 y, I am happy with this FEL.

I think you have it backwards. The 7tl has higher specs than the kl130.

It's all marketing.

It may be marketing, but I've personally seen a 3320 w/300cx lift pallets of Wood Pellets (one ton)...off a trailer and drive em into his garage..so IMO that "real world" marketing is worth 5x of what anybody publishes.

I personally wish everybody had that "TO 59" spec...like I said, realistically, how many times to ANY of use lift ANYTHING to max height? 98% of my FEL duties fall within that 59" lift spec? So why not advertise it?

ANY spec (Lift Capacity, HP, Hydrualic GPM, etc) regardless of mfg is difficult to decipher...some MFG's list "Max System Pressure" when talking hydraulics, some talk "Operating Pressure", two totally different things.

What the industry needs is a dedicated 3rd party to test & evaluate all these claims and verify them.

Yeah, I got it confused with the FEL for the CT122 (6TL?), which lifts
less than the KL120 on the CK20.

Now to see how the BobTach reduces the lift capacity on the 7TL.....

Does it?? I ordered my CT235 with it. Even if it's 100lbs less because of the bracketry I think the versatility of having the BobTach outweighs (badum-bum) it.

The brackets add weight and usually the bucket or pallet forks or other
implements are pushed out a few inches, which reduces capacity.

That said, the versatility of having a QA FEL still makes it attactive, as you
say. The issue I bring up is one of capacity, when you want to use every
bit of what your FEL has. A higher-capacity loader will reduce this concern.

Just go one step farther and get the KIOTI DK40se and you will get a 2,800lbs lift.
Yes I know it will do that with ease I have a customer unloading pallets of black sand for his powder coating business and they weigh 3,000lbs a pallet.
