Bobtach hydraulics

I just bought a CT230 with the bobtach loader. I assumed the loaded came with the hydraulics already set up to use with skid steer attachments. It did not but my question is, how does it work? Meaning, do any of you use a CT230 or something close HP wise and if so, how do the attachments work? I know the skid steers have a lot more flow that the compacts do so I wonder if it is even worth getting the hydraulics added on.

I have some concrete that needs busted up so I am looking at the jack hammer. I would also be interested in the power broom to get our drive swept off real good before I seal it this summer and also the trencher.

My local harware store will rent a bobcat skid steer out and they have some of those attachments so I thought maybe I can just rent the attachment and save a little money.

A hydraulic breaker will beat your poor tractor to death! Rent the SSL with it and put the wear and tear on the rental. Also, you never know what fluid is is those rental attachments that could contaminate your system...it's kind of like kissing your sister-on the lips:eek:

excellent point i hadnt even considered the fluid issue

KennyD is correct on the breaker issue beating up your tractor. Front Hydraulics are not available on any tractors yet besides the CT440-445-450

We are hoping to see front hydraulics sometime this year for the other tractors, and they will be a kit so you can have your local dealer install them or you can yourself if you have the means to do so

It wouldn't be hard to run hoses up to the front to run what you want.

Yes a breaker is probablt the toughest thing you will run but you got to use it to abuse it. To me it would seem kinda silly to rent a machine when you have one.

I rent hydraulic attachments all the time and the oil thing has crossed my mind but to avoid them for that reason is probably just being over paranoid.

The kioti CK30hst (I assume this is the Bobcat equivalent?) has total hydraulic output of 12.7 gal. Guess about 4-5 gal for power steering and the rest for other hydraulics. That leaves about 7.7-8.7 gallons at pto rpm speed. Most most midsized skid steer that would run the earlier mentioned attachments use in the 16-18 gpm range or higher. CUTs just don't have enough flow for most skid steer attachments such as trencher, broom, breaker etc. They can run a Bobcat PHD but does it slowly and less than optimum. You can run stuff which use a hydraulic cylinder such as a grapple, 4 in 1 bucket, snow blade, hydraulic tamper etc very easily.

It is easy to run a set of hoses from the rear hydraulics with couplers to us for front attachments. I did this with my Kubota 3710. Just hook them up to rear outlets when need them.
