I knocked out some front lights last summer pushing brush. Then when movig some rocks I had one rock roll off the bucket and dropped on to the hood - plastic hood. You can guess how that worked out. So this winter I am adding some protection to the lights and hood.any pics of similar projects?

I realize that is probably no help at all. In my twisted little brain, it was the first thing that came to mind. But you have to admit, it IS a cool picture. :D

I have seen alot of tractors setup for brush, seems like they either use pipe or 2x2x1/4" square tube frame and expanded metal, couple of pics give the idea of what I have seen

You can add grill protectors and have seen threads on here of people making them. If you use your tractor at night I would caution you about using any kind of expanded metal in front of the lights. It tends to cut down on the available light along with reflecting back into your eyes. Just my opinion

For the 4200 - 4400 series of Deere CUT's they offered a hood armor kit. If I recall correctly, it included an upgraded grille guard too.

Grill guards are easy to make. I like mine better than the store bought. Closer to the grill and slides up & off for easy access.

You can also make a rail or fence across the top of your bucket.

It's important that you watch your bucket as it goes up. Roll the bucket down or forward as it comes up. That next rock may damage something more important than the hood of your tractor.

I added this to my bucket if this helps. It' removable.
