I always wanted a Bond Arms derringer, not sure why or if it will ever see the light of day out of my safe, just would like to have one. I have been looking at the Texas Defender and original Snake Slayer in 45lc with an additional 22lr barrel and Bonds custom leather. Do any of you own or have had experience with this product. My intent is not to replace my Kimber cdp as my daily carry piece but just something different to have. Look forward to reply's.

My BIL bought one about 6 months ago. Not sure of the model, but it's chambered for 45LC and .410 shot shells. Extra barrels are available, but he hasn't bought any. The recoil with shot shells is impressive.

I've shot it but was not impressed. Trigger was pretty stiff, as was the hammer. Guess it would be OK to carry on a tractor in case you needed it, but not too useful as a self defense gun as it pretty much takes two hands to get it into action.

If you want a derringer for the novelty, by all means get one.

Never shot one or had desire to do so. As self defense firearms, they had their time..but that's long since passed. Too many other small handguns work better for self defense.
