Candidly, I don't give a shitte what you do, but when you post a picture on a public viewed form such as this, expect to be critiqued if it's something that requires it. I didn't say anything about your pizz poor welding either.

Furthermore Bud... I repair buckets on commercial front loaders and tractors as well.

I would never post a picture like you did and not expect anything more than being critiqued.

Are you keeping some type of ballast on the 3-point hitch for counterweighting? Putting a lot of weight that far out in front of your tractor will cause you to lose traction at the least. Loaded rear tires will help with the traction but you'll also need something hanging out from the rear to get adequate counterweighting.

I put my home built A frame boom on the back! That way I keep the functionality of the FEL.
It's just two pieces of heavy wall 2X3 steel attached together at one end, and pinned to a typical 3pth tool bar on the other ends. I use a short length of chain for the top link.
I use it for lifting big rounds up onto the splitter. Just as the original poster mentioned. Anything to save my back!.

I'm not going to post a picture, 'cause that would open me up to conjecture and critique, and there can be none of that ....;I might learn something......-)

Sure comes in handy for swinging log tongs around.during splitting season......

When someone posts something they fabricated and flaw(s) pointed out it should be appreciated! I bought bolt on forks for my bucket and almost dropped something so I bought a stabilizer bar. It still wasn't good so I bought a real made in USA fork attachment which has been great. The real deal, heavy duty.

Yeah there are few Grumpy Gus's here and feel free to ignore the sniping, but the point still remains: reinforcing the upper lip of that bucket is a wise idea and will improve the performance and longevity of the bucket and your boom pole. That is sound advice, and you can take it or not. Up to you.

BTW, the seat looks quite nice. Not sure what the beef was...

If anything, the bucket will "fix" itself since the extra brace was added. With a load on it, it will try to pivot on the cutting edge and pull the dent up.
