Boom Pole on 2 inch Receiver

I like the telescoping action. What are the pins on the end for?

I am sure seeing a lot of great ideas now that I built mine. I think next time I will build one out of cardboard. Then

I like the telescoping idea. What exactly are the pins on the end for? What other ends do you have for it or plan to make.

The end with the pin's is made to take off and slide on another attachment, I have a blade attachment for it , I pull <weed's, dead head's ect'> to shore, where I can reach them with the mini excavator and load them out and haul them away.

I have not done much this week because I was waiting for my band saw to arrive. It a Sears 15 inch, 4 speed metal cutting band saw. I tried some cuts last night and it does a very neat job, although a little slow. I am going to try a higher speed and see if it works faster. I would also like to install a weight, with a pulley and rope to keep pressure on the metal during cutting, so I don't have to. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. I have of course attached a few pictures.

I put my trailer winch on the top 2 inch receiver, attached it to the end of the boom and cranked it tight. See attached pictures.
It seem to support very well. I hope to use this since it has many uses and I already have it.

I used the boom pole with the "shovel" that I made for digging dirt out of the swamp. I was able to bring the dirt up close where I can get to it with the minihoe. It is a narrow, but it only took a few minutes to pull the dirt that I needed up close.
I did not use the winch since the forces on the boom with the "shovel" will be up and the winch will not help.

This "shovel" might be good for cleaning out trenches.
