Boom Pole

   / Boom Pole #11
I hung a good railroad tie from mine, by running a chain from the end ring out to each end of the tie. I then ran chains from the ends of the tie to the drawbar. Use the boom pole to pick it up for transport, then lower the boom pole until the tie hits the ground and drag the tie for leveling/smoothing areas that are freshly graded or the wife's riding arena. Sorry I don't have a photo handy.

I plan to do the same thing with a chain harrow, using the boom pole to raise it for transport, then lowering it when I want the harrow to work. This would make it easy to transport the chain harrow from one place to another when you can't drag it /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.
