My company just purchased a used HOLDEC TRANSCUT 2 lumber pack cutter,which has a huge 5 or 6 ft chain on it.The chain is a "rip tooth rapid super39460000204 stihl chain.It looks like a normal saw chain to me,but im far from being an expert.
It says the pitch is.404.
The saw does a pretty neat job and doesnt splinter much.My boss wants to keep the angles perfect and for me to decide on a tool to sharpen it.It looks like the previous owner had tryed to sharpen itand a couple of the teeth have wrong angles.With the number of teeth,i do not want to hand file,i really would like a bar mount grinder for it.I have a bench mount at home,but with this long chain i would prefer not having to remove it.
Ive searched and searched and cant decide.All the bar mounts say not for ripping chains,something about 20 degrees,im not understanding this.If i go with a bench mount im going to have to make somathing to keep the chain stretched out while i have it on the grinder ,to keep it from piling up on the floor in front of me Im leaning the oregon 511 x if i cant find a bar mountthat will work.
