OK - so I add Power Service all the time to every tank full - like church on Sundays...
But - can you / should you add Stabil to diesel too?

No dieselservice is all you'll need.
Theres several dieselservice products to use for differing situations but the DS in the white bottle is good as a preventative and it also up's the cetane which is similar to boosting the octane in gasoline....

HEY FOLKS,
Itook my tractor over for a check,and iam picking up tommorow.They said the injectors and the engine check out fine ,and confirmed i had already corrected the problem with the filter clamps,fixing the air sucking and that i probably had some water,and the power service corrected it.
They checked the 23 over from head to toe,and the only issue was a very loose sending unit in the tank in which made the gauge wacky,and why i ran out of fuel.
It would be my reccomend if you change filters switck to the water pipe type clamp,in stead of the wire type.
The power service is great stuff to.I got to get rid of those old metal cans,thats probably where some of my water came from.
I had the tires topped off with ballast now bring on the snowbankings!!!!!!

You both can and should add stabil to diesel fuel IF you are going to have the same tank of fuel in it for more than about a month. I use both stabil and powerservice this time of year adding it to the tank and to the 5gal jugs of fuel.
You should also let the service station know that you suspect that they had water in thier fuel. Not an accusation, just let then know that you as suspicious.

I've only put a total of 250 hours on my Kubota, but have never used power service or stabil in it and have never had even the hint of a problem. In fact, the fuel I used all this time is from a tank that I had filled almost eight months ago, which is just now empty. Am I just lucky or is there some powerservice benefit that I am missing here? I run the tractor no less than weekly, often times every other day.

You need to get to Tractorsmart.com and get the parts break down for your tractor. It will show what everything is. If your tractor starts and runs, you don't need to keep cracking injectors to bleed air. Once it is up and running, your good there. If you are not getting fuel to the injector pump, many times it is the fuel delivery pump. I have no idea if your tractor een has one as many Kubotas have a gravity feed system if I am not mistaken. You may have a air bleed valve like my Kubota. If I leave it open, it will act up much like you describe. It is located very close to the injector pump. It will run with this valve open, but it does need to be closed once the tractor gets going. We had a problem like yours on a Kubota L4840. There was a blockage in the fuel delivery stemming from the tank outlet. Seems a bit of mud got into the diesel can which in turn ended up in the fuel tank blocking most of the fuel flow. It was obvious by looking at the clear fuel filter bowl that there was insufficient diesel in the filter system. If you can see your filter and the housing is not full all the time, you have a delivery problem.

My tractors all fixed now.The wire on the block went to one of the gauges,and wasnt the problem.When i changed my fuel filters,the original clamps did not seat the hoses correctly,allowing it to suck air.After a large dealer in central maine told me that they make it a practice to change the clamps to the screw type[like for water pipes] because its hard to get them to reseat exactly like they were before.For like a dollar i replaced all four clamps and the tractor bled itself and i was good.However i think i got some water in my fuel also ,and it would sputter now and then.The power service cleared up that.The tractor was running like new for the last 20 hours ,but i took it in for a checkup,to make sure,because my warrenty is about up.

I use the power service usually only in the winter to prevent gelling,it gets darn cold up here.However my neighbor who is a diesal mechanic told me to dump some in to see if it clears up my latest problem,which he suspected to be water,and it did clear it up.

Im not sure it was the ststion.I notice them metal cans swett terrible in the summer in my barn,i suspect i need to replace them.
