I am new to this board, and like many people that are in the market for a compact tractor, I did a lot of research and checked out and compared all the other brands (JD, CC, NH, Kubota etc.)

The 2300 seemed the best, especially for the price. Never thought I would end up buying a Massey, I am glad I did. The dealer neaby has been carrying them for over 40 years. I am getting it with a FEL & 60" MMM. I think this machine will work well on our 5 acres, especially during the construction phase of our home.

I do not know anyone that owns a 2300. Overall, how do they perform? Is everyone pretty satisfied with this machine?

Great choice on the 2300. I love mine. Although, it is less than 10 days old so I guess I will have to test it more. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congratulations, caseyd! I'm finding more and more uses for mine all the time. With all the rain/snow we're getting this weekend and all the blasted honeysuckle we want to pull, it looks like I'll transition smoothly from snow clearing to spring cleaning! Have fun with your new tractor!

I'm a new 2300 owner also, so far so good, wondering how it will do mowing my yard which is all HILL. By the way, I too did alot of research, and Massey had Kubota beat hands down!!

But still not worth over 3000 bucks more than a BX23.

Looking to add a BH to my 2300. When I bought last year and considered the 2310, my dealer said he thinks the Woods BH is better than massey's and I would be better off to get the 2300 and add the Woods BH later. (BTW: The local Massey rep is aware of his thoughts on this and agreed, albeit reluctantly, with him).

So I went to the dealer this weekend to look at a 2300 with the Woods backhoe but it was on display at the local mall but noticed several 2300s around his lot. As we were talking I asked how the 2300 was for business. He said it is the best seller that massey has come up (Not sure how long he has been in business but it is at least 20 years).

Just addin' a couple cents worth.

It's hard for me not to have fun with this thing.

Lou having a woods BH on the 2300 could void the MF warranty. I'm not sure if the sub frame of the 2300 is the same as the 2310... BH can cause serious damage to the sub frame or even break it... Check this out with your Dealer before you buy, keep us posted...cag

There is a subframe that is added for the Woods BH. Early on I asked the dealer if I could rent one and he said that it would be too much to put the subframe on and remove it for a rental.

Lou when you get the woods BH don't forget to post some pics's /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif...cag

I visited the MF dealer today to look at a 2310. He didnt have any and said they probably wont be ordering any more unless someone specifically wants it. Instead of ordering the 2310, they are ordering 2300s and installing Woods BH and loaders on them. He said he can put that combo together and sell it for about $900 cheaper than the 2310. He said it also helps him on all of his Woods products because the more they order, the better deal they get on their Woods products and can pass it on to customers cheaper.
The woods BH does have a subframe that ties into the loader frame, swivel seat mount and grill guard, MF red and is compatible with either Woods or MF mower decks. The Woods BH will also allow you to keep the 3PH arms on the tractor with small modifications (a little bending) of the PTO cover. The Woods BH and loader are warrantied for 1 year and the tractor for 2 years (I may be mistaken on the tractor warranty). I do know that he said that the Woods stuff doesnt void the tractor warranty in any way.
He has a price of $15900 for the 2300, Woods BH and loader. I figure with a little haggling it could be had for $15500 easy.
