Bought a Kubota L3400 4wd dt w/bucket. Mistake???

Hi -- I went to the dealer and he was real nice. We traded for the 3310. It has a little less hp, but it is more of what I am used to and the fuel filter is protected. The dealer advised me to go to a bigger bush hog. Instead of the sq600, he suggests the sq720 or 6ft mower. I don't know if I should keep the 5ft or go with the 6ft. He suggested the 5ft sq600 for the L3400.

Anyway I feel better and thank you for the great advice.

I think you'll be happy with either bushhog unless you are doing a lot of acres. I use a SQ600 behind a 50 pto hp utility tractor, its way smaller than what it can handle but you can turn away from fences and such when you are up tight to them without dragging the hog into the fence.

Glad to hear that dealer took care of you. Did you get HST or GST?
If you are going to be doing heavy cutting the 60" should work best. If you are going to be cutting previously cut fields the 72" may be OK.

Glad to hear the dealer worked it out with you. I think you'll like the 3130, I know I like mine. I'd stick with the 5ft bushhog unless you have failry level ground and easy stuff to cut. I have a lot of hills on our farm and a six foot cutter would be a bit much over time. I believe the 3130 would handle it but for the extra 1' of cutting width I don't think it's worth the strain on the engine.

Hi -- I decided on the GST. I like the forward and reverse on the column as well as the gear selector on the left side. The bucket on this tractor has a"quick disconnect" to remove the bucket only. I don't know if I'll use that. The under side of the tractor has less exposed parts than the L3400. The tires are bigger than the L3400.
The 4wd lever is in a different location from the L3400.

You are right, I feel much better about the tractor and I can enjoy Christmas better. Apparently tractor dealers are much nicer than most car dealers.

Howdy.

I also have an L3130, 2004 model. I really like this tractor. My old tractor was an Allis D14. It was a fun old tractor but this new one is a whole lot better.

I do think you'll like the L3130. If you notice, there is a LOT of us here that own L3130 compact tractors. It's because they are an excellent value and fun to operate. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Please, let us know how you like it after 50 hours of use.
