Jinman, You were right, It was the lever part of the parking brake that was sticking....just got finished bushhoging 5 1/2 acres and that cruise was nice to have. I'm glad you cleared up the positive traction thing....I was also pushing the lever down as I needed it then releasing....just did'nt know that was the correct way to do it. Does your tractor constantly make that humming sound? The type of sound when your low on power steering fluid in your truck. I checked my oil and its good.

I've never heard it referred to as "humming," but my tractor does have the hydrostatic transmission whine. It's a little annoying, but I've gotten used to it. You are talking about the noise when you step down on the hydro pedals aren't you?

Bayoublue,

Acadian Acres is on Hwy 13.

When driving South toward Crowley, it's about 300 feet past Tiger Lane (which goes to LSU and the Eunice airport)

My TC35 is a gear tractor, but I don't think Newholland went out of their way to silence the gear or the HST tractors. Mine sounds like a box of rocks was dumped into the engine and transmission. The dealer says that's normal, and others I have heard sound the same. Depending on what I'm pulling and the RPM, I can hear the whining, grinding, and tapping noises echoing off my loader bucket, box blade, etc. It makes a hella racket, and I have never gotten used to it. I guess I should look on the bright side and think of it as the sound of big strong gears doing WORK.

Come to think of it, when is the last time you have heard and any REAL work done quietly? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

bayoublue,

Welcome to TBN & congratulations on a fine buy indeed. What a machine eh !! I have had my beast now for just over a year & it has been fantastic & darn right BRUTAL tackling any job I have tried so far. I bought my 2001 used as well with 79 hours on it. Sounds like your having one heck of a riot with yours. What happenned to the pics ?? Looks like your going to have to try again. Would love to see your machine even if it does look just like mine !! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree.. these boomers are tuff machines.. I'm over 1600 hrs on my TC35D w/SS.. I use it everyday for feeding the steers.. but it has worked hard since I bought it in 2000.. tilling, plowing, discing, planting, cultivating, raking hay, running a square baler, snow removal, log hauling, stump digging, bush hogging, grass cutting, manure spreader... and... pulling the my farm neighbor's tractor & skidsteer out of the mud.

Your making a good point for buying ag tires instead of industrials. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Though I do some finish grass cutting.. I'm usually in the dirt or non-lawn fields.. the ags have worked good for me.. I've never gotten stuck where the tractor couldn't get out on it's own.

The one thing I like about the industrial tires is the wider footprint of the front tires.. especially for FEL work.. that's the one of the reasons I got my fronts filled.. besides flat tires. Wonder if they have Ag tires w/ the wider footprint? Are the rims wider for the fronts for industrials?

I just had my first flat on one of my front industrials. I ran over a sharp beaver stump or something that made a 3/4" puncture in the tire. I fixed it with a large "boot" type patch from TSC (8"x8"). So far it's holding.

The industrial tires do have wide rims. I think my rim was around 12" wide (may have been 10"). I know there are also wide ag tires, but I don't think they are one of the standard choices from NH. If you have a farm tire dealer in your area they will probably have a catalog with the wider ags.

One thing I did notice while I had the rim out is that my rim was made by Titan. I guess NH buys rims and tires already mounted. Makes sense...
