Well, I finally went and did it. After comparing the TC18 & TC21D side by side, I signed the papers on a TC18 last night. For me, the 2HP wasn't worth $2K. Hmm, fiancee wants garden, can you say ROTOTILLER?

I didn't get the best price, but I decided that 1. local service was worth the premium, 2. I didn't want to have to rent a trailer & pick the thing up, 3. I'm tired of waiting. Dealer was great to deal with, only local guy who took any money off his initial offer. Didn't require a deposit to hold the tractor & a personal check is OK for down payment! He is also flexible with delivery date, giving me time to sell my 316.

TC18 HST, Power Steering, MFWD, Folding ROPS, FEL $12,600
60" MMM $2,300
Landpride RB1560 rear blade $300
Skid shoes for above $90

Congrats Hazmat! When does it arrive?

Is the TC 18 HST not called a TC 18D? I noticed you said you compared a TC 18 and TC 21D.

And just think about all the posts you made w/ that green signature. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif I guess all that matters is which one you actually take home with you. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thanks brad. It should arrive in two weeks +/-, More up to me than the dealer (I'm waiting on a check from a stock sale). There is no Deluxe TC18, but hydro is an option. There are more differences between standard & deluxe on the larger boomers.

Basically the blue/green choice came down to the dealer being willing to work with me & not act like they were doing me a FAVOR by allowing me to buy a tractor. If everything was equal, I would have bought the deere. My weedwacker is a deere, so I guess I have blue/green blood

Congrats on the TC 18. Mine was delivered two weeks ago. Same setup minus the MMM. I also found the additional HP not worth the 2K. So far HP has not been an issue. I have had some traction problems but I have a tough application - sand. What tires did you get? I have R4s but might exchange them for turfs.

I have been really impressed with the lift power of the FEL.

I will be getting the R4 tires. I tried the turfs & they didn't have alot of traction in the dirt. I am hoping to not have to use chains in the winter for plowing. I did need them with my garden tractor (two wheel drive w/ turfs). Also the r4 looked cooler /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

The dealer is going to load the tires with non toxic RV antifreeze (another example of him working with me)

If you compared a TC18 with a TC21D the $2,000 difference is not just because of the 2 hp difference. The 'D' in the TC21D indicates the Deluxe model which includes a folding ROPS, HST, better seat, etc.

Regardless, congrats on your purchase!

Congratulations on your new tractor /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Im still kicking tires and getting prices, but I hope to have settled on a model/price within the next week or so. Going to try out a B2410 about 70 miles from here on Saturday, its the only one within 100 miles of me.

The TC18 I purchased had HST, folding ROPS & power steering. The 2K difference to the 21D was Horsepower, a bit more Hydraulic GPM (7.65 vs. 6.76) front lights, deluxe seat (more padding, but doesn't swivel like the big ones) & nicer "floor mats". The deluxe three point hitch isn't offered in the class I Boomers.

Hazmat, I'm very, very happy, that you went with Blue. When I was buying my tractor, you and I talked a lot about my purchase. I also thought that you went to the dark side, and bought green. Sorry Star Wars comes out today. LOL. But remember one thing a TC18 is not a deluxe model, and I think for the options that you want maybe you should take a second look. You are paying, as I figure it $15000 for the TC18, and you could have the TC21D for another $1200. And I didn't even try to deal on that price. I bought a used TC21D for $13,500 with 92 hrs on it. It also had FEL, 60" MMM, and R4s. By the way R4's are the way to go. I'm very happy with mine. Just a bit of food for thought. Once again wonderful that you are going with the NH. Please keep in touch. Kent

Congratulations on your new family member. What dealer did you buy from? I'm in Southern Maine and am curious. I looked at the 18 before I went with the 21 D.
