But the plug wire and carb in the pictures prove it's a gasoline. That plate is likely to have been put on both gasoline and diesel engines to give oil specs.

That one you bought is the acme aln330 10hp gas engine. If it was the diesel I would have bought it even with the rath of my wife!

this two wheel mule I did not look at the photos.

Nice looking 735 and you got a steal of a deal. I bought my 735 in 1987 and yours looks newer than mine, the breather on mine is oil bath and the operator presence handle on the left is black on mine. Mine had been setting in the shed since last summer and I went out to use it to till my brothers garden and the ACME fired up on the second pull. It's a good old 28 yr old machine.

Oh, and mine has the recoil with the steel cable and the only repair I've had done is an ignition coil, $37.

Oil spec plate is probably giving the name of the recommended brand of Agip (Italian oil company) motor oil. My wife has an Alfa Romeo, and instead of giving specs of the oil (e.g. 5W-30) there is a plate recommending filling with "Selenia 20k Diesel" even though the car is gas. If you want to fill with something else, you have to dig through the owner's manual for the oil spec. I imagine there is some marketing agreements between these Italian companies. Also, the diesel oil is often fulfilling higher service specifications, which might be relevant as well for an air cooled gas engine.
