Im hoping to see it Fri, I know its on its way cause I talked with shipper.

Price was the major decider for me, Im gonna get my OEM 3rd function installed by dealer and cover the cost of the attachment for a little less than some of the other higher priced grapples.

If the thing looks like it was built/welded by a disgruntled Harbor Freight employee than Ill make note of that here with pictures and then send it back.

It weighs approx 200 + pounds more than my front bucket so for me I dont see that as a huge issue.

Its this one 219 MTL Attachments HD 6" Skid Steer Root Grapple-Universal fit - FREE SHIP | eBay

Got it today, everything looks good, welds and finish work are decent, good penetration and flat, only thing that stuck out was the finish is almost non existent up underneath.

Supposedly powdercoated.

Its gonna get used.

Looks just like my black one. :)

Check that all the zerks are in snug. I had a few that weren't exactly tight and could back out by hand.

You won't be sending it back, you'll be smiling spending that extra cash on a different implement.

I got the chance to really use this hard yesterday. I'd like to add that this grapple is approximately 200 pounds heavier than the bucket that came with the machine.

In my opinion the weight difference can really be felt while using the machine.

I'm sure that over time the pins in the loader arms will feel it too ( as in more wear).......

I saved thousand bucks, would I do it again?

I'd think a little more about it, let me put it that way. I want to take care of my large tractor investment.

With that said holy **** Batman does this thing work. I'm able to do more work in 4 hrs than I could have done in 12 hrs bustin a nut on my small tractor.

I got the 48" MTL root grapple for my Kubota L2501. I gave it a good workout moving some large rocks over the weekend, and clearing some brush today. Works perfect for me, no issues. This one is about 350lbs, which is a good size for my loader. Half price vs "name brands," love it!

I bought the RK5 rock, root grapple. Weighs at least 500 lbs. It would be better suited for a much larger tractor than I have. I thought the closer bottom tines would help with some of the smaller debris.

I can use it but I can't get it to penetrate a pile with wet dirt. When I do my loader won't lift it. I have verified my loader will lift 1200 lbs plus the bucket and forks. I didn't test for height but I was moving my diesel generator with it.

Not sure if I will continue to use it as is, sell it, or take the plasma cutter to it. I am thinking about using a circle magnet as a guide and cut a bunch of holes in it.

I just picked up a 48" root grapple from MTL on Friday. Ordered my diverter kit yesterday, ships today.
I can't wait to use this thing. I have cleared and am in the process of clearing some land and I think this thing is going to be invaluable getting everything piled up. Can't wait to use it!!

Probably not worth the effort. For example- 50 holes, 2" diameter, thru 3/8 steel would save 17 lbs.

I will take your word for it. I will probably stick with the use it as is option. I moved a bunch of stumps with it yesterday and it handles most of what I would need. I have to do everything in slow motion and be careful. I picked up one large one off center and the tractor leaned pretty bad so I dropped it and got center on it. I have my front tires set in the wide position and the rears are new wheels with a bigger offset than what came on it. The rear track is 6 inches wider than the stock wheels were in the wide setting.

I bought a 66 inch MTL Grapple for my 50 HP Mahindra. It took me a while to figure out the third function. At first I was going to install but changed to letting the dealer do it. They knew way more about it than I did and their method was much cleaner than my plan.

I used it for the first time this last weekend. Works pretty dang good. I have the one with dual chompers for lack of better terms. The dealer even commented saying that was a pretty good grapple for 1000 bucks. He said many do not have cover for the Cylinders which the MTL does.

For my weekend stuff, it does plenty good. I am very pleased.

Now i just need to get a Woodland Stump Grinder, Forklift attachment and a few other items!!!

I have seen the ovens they are powder coated in. I can assure you that you were not misled.

Mine has been holding up great for my use!

Im still happy with my MTL 66 dual lid. Its picked up everything Ive wanted it too and saved my back a lot of hurt. The $ i saved buying it over other brands paid for my 3rd function kit.

I bought the same dual lid and same here. What I saved paid for my third function or at least a good part of it. For weekend stuff 1000 buck grapple is hard to beat
