Well after much thinking and reading on this site I decided on a yanmar 2210 with FEL and BH from EFC. I will pick it up this weekend, they had to install the FEL and BH on it.
I was almost ready to by a china unit but had a gut feeling against it and then looked at these yanmars and they look really nice. I also like the sound of the 2 cyl engine, reminds me of an old JD crawler we use to have!

Anyway the guys at EFC are great and am anxious to get the toy home! Then the next day we go on vacation /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif so I wont get a real chance to use it till we get back...

These boards are great, I am already planning on the stuff to put on it!

I think you make a good choice and bought from a reputable dealer. The Chinese models may turn out to be fine, but like most Chinese products these days, they seem rough around the edges. A warranty only helps if the company is around, actually honors the warranty and the dealers do quality repair work. A good used machine that was designed well and was made well in the manufacturing process beats a new, but poorly or cheaply made machine in the long run. Don't get me wrong, I think the best machine out there would be a brand spanking new Deere (especially one of the totally Yanmar made units), but ouch--the price forces you to sell your children to get one.

So in trying to get a decent machine at a reasonable price, the used yannies from reputable dealers have a nice sweet spot in the market.

Good luck and tell us how it works out. Careful with the backhoe--don't break your toy in two.

Welcome aboard tractor owner.
You bought from a reputable dealer who will take care of any needs you might have with your new toy.
I added a radio & some backup lights to mine which really help during backhoe use when its getting dark out.
Hang around this forum everyday & you will learn alot about yanmars, and tractoring in general.

Just recalled my first tractor. It was delivered on friday afternoon and I was looking foward to running it on saturday. This was in late FEB. When I go up on Saterday and put on my tractor driving boots I found that we had an ice storn during the nite and my new toy was frozen to the driveway and the tractor was covered with 1 1/2 inches of ice. Even the key was frozen in place. When it thawed out I started it up and drove aroung the yard after dark, I even mulched some leaves. Wish there were digital cameras back then.

Enjoy the 2210, that is a great unit! Have fun digging your 1st holes but make sure you know where your septic, sewer, and water pipes run when they leave any building... Oh yeah... and you neighbors too if you are working on a property line.

Have fun!
