...Bush Hog (c) brand. That 7 footer starts at about $1500...

That is the standard duty Squealer series... I'd had considered a Bush Hog 406 (6' HD) for $3300... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hey there Bob:
You made a good choice. My 6000 continues to suprise me with its power and traction. I think it has been raining everywhere, but I have used my tractor and hoe in some pretty unbelieveable mud, and so far, not even close to getting stuck. Your price is pretty much in the going range. My dealer has run dyno test on many 6000 and they all range from 52 to 55 pto hp. Do they sell the IH in a 10 foot cutter? I agree with John, the price of 1K or even 1500 for a 7 foot HD cutter is a great price. Is it 3pt or pull type?
Thanks for posting and keep us informed on how you like your tractor.

OK, now that I have taken delivery of the 6000, I got the tractor/Mod 264 FEL (biggest avail) and 1200 lbs of fluid in the rear tires for $21,154 delivered. . I originally said a tad over $22K cause I was afraid it wouldn't happen if I said what the deal really was!! I think the dealer had it a month shy of having to start making payments on it. I hooked regular duty 7 ft shredder up to it today and just poked along at about 1500 rpm in some field grass. Never even sounded like it had anything on it. This is one powerfull tractor. I t has a 195 cu. in engine. (not the 203 cu. in). It had just over 3 hrs on the clock when I got it. I now has a tad over 4.5. I'll get some use out of it this weekend if the weather stays semi-dry (probably won't). Anyhow, I'm gonna see what the 7ft International costs on Friday. I'll post the deal if I make it. Hi Bob,

Great news... you get to ride and drive... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Breaking it in, I wouldn't be towing a full hay wagon or be doing any serious plowing yet... but you should be able to use the rotary cutter @ the normal PTO speed past 2000 rpm (whatever it is on the 6000)...

Get that digital camera going Bob... we need some photo's...! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OK, I made the deal for the cutter. It's a HD International 7 ft, with double tail wheels (never ran one with 2, but I guess the cut will be a tad more balanced) delivered TOMORROW morning for $1675. Yeah, I know its a tad more than $1K but once I did the reseach on this cutter, I realized I'm not getting hurt here. It came in on the truck today so I said "What the hey! Bring it on!! Oh about the pictures, I don't got no stinkin' digital camera (however I have a good tractor and hog). I hope my friend does and if so I may be about 3 or 4 days from putting a picture or two in here. We just had a heck of a thunderstorm here so don't know how much more water will be stacked up in the field tomorrow. I'll give an update once I put another few hours on the clock. Talk to you later guys. By the way if you want to see the model of the hog go to www.sweettractors.com , hit the field maintenance icon and scroll down to rotary cutter, 7 ft HD with 2 tail wheels. You can come up with a picture. More later. BobG in VA

Re: UPDATE: Bought NEW 6000 w/FEL

Suns been out for about a week now in VA. I've got a shade over 15 hours on the 6000. All but a small amount of the hours were running the International 7' brush hog. I've cut about 20 acreswith it (4 separate fields so I'm not sure exactly how many). Man! I'm sold that this was right decision! A few notes: Fuel economy-about what you'd expect from a 60 hp diesel--maybe 6 gallons in a hard afternoons cutting (3-4 ft. hay/fieldgrass). Brush hog is very smooth and quiet compared to a number I have run. Does a great job of cutting. Only small complaint is that the right hand rear wheel collects a bunch of hay around the axel as the blades run CCW and throw the "stuff" right out on/past that tail wheel. About the tractor/FEL. Plenty of power and I've never felt such nice power steering on cars, much less a tractor. Transmission is smooth and sure, but as someone else noted the shuttle could be a tad lower so someone whith shorter arms doesn't have to lean forward to get to forward. I'm going to get a toothbar for the FEL for digging once I'm done with the cutting chores. Haven't had a great amount of use for the FEL yet but have pushed a tree that fell over during a storm back out of the field I was cutting. Very easy to manuver thanks to the joystick. I have an early one made by KMW LTD, an would have liked to have 2 cross members rather than the one large one but I think for my purposes, it will be fine. Anyone out there picked up a toothbar for a 78" buckey yet?? If you know of any (I want the one that bolts up to both sides of the bucket so it can be taken off easily) pls let me know.
I think I'm going to change the oil/filter at 25 hours. Mentioning that, I note that the oil from the factory is a reddish color sort of like power steering fluid. Anyone else notice this on their "00" model?? Hasn't used a drop and the pressure stays at the upper end all the time. I have noted that the operator's station is somewhat different than what I'm used to; that being "close". The seat is very comfortable to me and I like the fenders/and the the "hold on" rails and their placement. Not sure I like the location of the battery as its under the air filter in the front. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give a conservative 9 for what it is. A hard workin' tractor that fires up on the first crank and is truely one of the smoothest 4 cyl diesels I've had the pleasure to work with. OK , I'm done. Any comments from other "00" followers??? You must be too young to remember the '57 Chrysler products when they came out with power steering that required almost no effort at all to turn the steering wheel. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif That didn't last long because there were too many wrecks, including one of our customers, from people turning the wheel a lot farther and faster than they intended and it didn't straighten out on its own as fast. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

BZZZ! Wrong: We had a '62 Galaxie 500 like that. Took no effort at all. Main thing is I'm not doin' 70mph on a two lane blacktop, but rather turning 7500 lbs with 11.2X24 front tires. I like it. I like a lot. BobG in VA

Glad to hear the good reviews on the power steering on the 00 series.

As far as tractor photos, our website at www.mahindrausa.com has photos under the Products section.
