Well, we got lucky this past weekend. About an inch of sleet, little more. Good thing too! The bouncing is more pronounced - most of the time. The only time it worked flawlessly was after spending the night in the heated garage. Went out Saturday morning to get firewood and the blade stayed rock-solid up. Didn't last long - later that day the problem returned. The dealer is coming to pick it up on Thursday morning. Come to find out that one of Branson's "top" mechanics is coming this way later in the week and he is going to tackle the problem. Everybody keep your fingers crossed.

When that thing is going out of here on the trailer, it's like watching one of your kids go off to school! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Got a call from the dealer Wednesday - apparently someone at headquarters in Rome, GA heard about some of the "conversations" we have had on TBN about this problem. Anyway, he called my dealer and said they think they have the solution to the problem and he is sending the parts. Picking the tractor up Monday morning (everything should be here by then, including the mechanic). He also wanted to make sure that if I knew anyone else that was having the same problem to let him know so he can contact them to make sure they get their problem fixed.

He mentioned several things they want to check, but mentioned specifically that they believe they may have a filter problem (r/t the low micron screening) and mention of a rod and seal system. I'm certainly no hydraulic expert, so I'm going with what they tell me. If it works, I'll be sure to let everyone know - esp. gsgator and colestin valley. Stay tuned.

That would make sense about the rod / seal as I have said that I think it's leaking when it's all the way up, falls a little, and tries again to raise. I hope you get it fixed quickly, and that this is going to be THE fix! I know it's a pain not to have your tractor working properly. John

The latest - I think the bouncing is now gone!

I got the tractor back from the dealer last Friday and it seems to be working fine - but we really haven't had any temps. below 40 or so since then. It really had problems when it was colder.

Here is the fix for the bouncing - Branson believes the filter they use from the factory may be the culprit. Apparently the ultra-fine (0.5 micron I believe) hydraulic filter will not let the fluid flow smoothly when it is colder. Branson has another filter they suggest using in cooler/colder climates. My dealer changed the fluid and filter - so far, so good.

We are not sure the "drift" problem has been solved yet. Those were the times when I would leave the blade up and it would leak-off over a matter of minutes. I have tested it for 24 hours at least 3 times since the tractor came home and it hasn't dropped an inch. Never-the-less, the dealer still has the relief valve and seal to put in if it does drift again.

Both the mechanic and I believe the hydraulics are responding better with the new filter and fluid change. The blade raises smoother and the FEL seems to have a little more gumption - could be power of suggestion though.

My dealers delivery guy had the same problem with his 3510 and the filter seems to have solved his problem as well. I'm actually hoping for some cooler weather and the opportunity this weekend to really test it. I know there are several others out there that are having the same or similar problem so I'll keep everyone up-to-date.

I talked with my dealer today and if this is the fix he (and Branson) want to make sure everybody gets the problem taken care of. He has gone as far as to say that if there is anyone out there with a Branson who either doesn't have a dealer or has "lost" his/her Branson dealer, he is willing to ship the filter to you UPS and deal with it as a warranty. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif He does need to know the model and year of the tractor, number of hours, and if the hydraulic system has ever had fluid or filter changed (when). You can PM me and I'll send you his business e-mail address - unfortunately his website is down right now for some much needed upgrades.

This is the great thing about TBN. None of us has to live in isolation thinking we are the only one having "this" or "that" problem with our tractor. One person finds a fix and someone clear across the country can benefit as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Spoke too soon I guess. The temperature got down below 35 the other night - next morning, sure enough, the bounce was back. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifAs soon as it warmed up, it went away. Calling the dealer tomorrow for advice. Guess I'm gonna have to move further South.
