I'll be getting a late 90's l3600 gst on Monday. I was wondering why there are so few posts on this tractor? The only 2 things I see wrong with it are glow plug light stays on and a leak at the hose fitting where the tractor hydraulics connects to the backhoe hydraulics. I did read some about an o ring problem relating to the clutch packs. when checking it out I could here a rattling sound coming from the front left side (when sitting in the seat) and it did seem to change somewhat when engaging and disengaging the clutch. It has 1300 hrs on it. I put a small deposit on it but I could walk away if it sounds like major repairs are in my future. I was also wondering why tractordata.com lists this tractor as having 39hp when it should be 36hp. Just looking for some insight on this tractor from you guys. Of course pics will be forthcoming. Thanks for any replies.

I'm pleased with it so far. I haven't been able to work with it yet because of a combination of work and rain. I've been using the time I have had to change out every bit of fluid in the thing. That sudt fluid is not cheap! $240 just for the fluid alone. It has a loader and backhoe on it so I've spent a fair amount of time hitting grease fittings also. One grease fitting on the bh is broken off and I've been trying to get the right size easy out to get it out and another one won't take grease so I took it out and cleaned it with a wire and still no luck. When I get a chance I'll post some pics.

There is a glow plug indicator discussion starting here including part numbers and prices for the components of the system. KennyV also posted the wiring diagram and parts layout. Possible causes of the light staying on include engine temp sensor, timer, relay, and controller. Best to figure out which item is at fault - replacing all is pretty spendy. The L3600 is mostly a good trouble-free unit. Front axle seals can act up but its an easy fix. Good luck - Dick B.
