JM 354
I have a JM 354 with the 395E3 engine which makes it a 30hp I believe but that's OK because the torque is about the same. Anyway, I want to get a box blade and a bush hog of some type. I know my track is about 60 inches wide, but I am not sure what size box blade and bush hog my tractor can handle.
I want to be able to use each often if needed, (I may do some side jobs). What is a good size for my tractor? What are some decent brands/models that are reasonalbly priced?

Thank you,

Hey kbone1,
I was looking at the 354 when I found a good deal on another model and went with it. I wanted to get a rotary cutter and box blade as well. The dealer I was working with recommended a 5' rotary cutter and 5' box blade for the 354. He said the 354 would have no problems pulling each of these.

I currently have a big bee roatary cutter that I am very pleased with. Has held up real well - but - I just have one season of cutting with it. Expect many more as it appears to be well made and heavy. Have a Atlas box blade - same comments apply. Has worked real well keeping our gravel road maintained.

Know there is better equipment out there than what I have, especially for commercial type work. Not sure how well what I have would up under heavy regular usage based on comments I have read about these brands. But for me, and what I do/need them for, they are fine.

Good luck in your search.

Eddie

I would be looking at a 6' brush hog style or finish mower style for a 354, the box blade I would look at a 7'. I bleive the 354s don't ahve creepers so tiller size I don't know if it goes slow enough

I have a 354 and use a 6 foot brush hog, 7 foot box blade and a Howse 54 inch tiller, all work just fine. The only implement I found the 354 is a little fast for is a trencher in hard ground like cutting a ditch over a packed dirt roadway or driveway.
