No I haven't. What would be the advantages of this? My knowledge of anything like this is limited as I never owned a tractor before.

You could also add a bolt on blade across the back to move dirt like a box blade.

Its easy to make a box blade heavier. This is why they make suit case weights. I have a 100lb one that almost always stays on my BB. I also use one on my 6ft york rake from time to time.

I would lean toward the land plane as it is longer and you can move the material sideways to add crown.

It's been stored there since I made that weight block 3 1/2 years ago.

Your tractor will handle the blade just fine. I used a 540# Woods 5 foot box blade with a 3300# 28HP New Holland 1720. That box blade had a floating tail gate and would load up material easily. I had to adjust the depth of the blade as I used it. The blade you are looking at has a fixed tailgate and will pull easier. I currently use a 7' Taylor Way that weighs in at around 650# with a fixed tailgate. I like it. Those scarfiers will cut hard pan just fine.

Usually a good rule of thumb is 100# per foot of blade for heavy duty. This is a general rule. The 5 foot Woods that I previously owned was heavier in the end plate material than my current Taylor Way. Typically a hinged tailgate box blade will weigh more and load more material than a fixed box blade. The Titan looks fine to me and is attractively priced. As others have pointed out you can always add some weight to it if needed.

Dont underestimate those old Ford 8n. Think about what it took to farm with them.

Not to mention there close to 100yrs old and still going. That was a big tractor back then.

If a person had a hydraulic cylinder instead of the strut for adjustment, it seems it would be great for larger jobs.
