I'm pretty sure his 1st message showed a JD 4310. I only have a few jd manuals.. and mine don't cover that model. Anybody else?

DOH im an idiot... pay no attention to me....

There should be a friction disc or some other sort of tensioner device on the 3pt quadrant handle.

What actually holds the handle on?

The handle goes down and is welded to a pipe which goes into the side of something and disappears. Nothing that I can see to adjust.

Got the tractor back today, you guys were correct. The dealer adjusted the handle and tightened it up somehow. They had to remove the rear tire and the fender to get to the linkage. I guess if it happens again, I'll take a crack at it for $158.00.
