Box Blade on a BX

I have the King Kutter XB, 48" also. I have been very pleased with it, and it's plenty heavy duty enough for my uses. (It is lighter than some of the others mentioned.) I would not go wider than 48".

Here is the one I have for you to look at - from the Northern site. I actually picked mine up at a local Fleet Farm.

I would also look closely at the Woods Estate Series.

I have a Vassar Equipment box blade. It is a little on the light side for weight but is well constructed. I like that the scarifiers pivot up when backing up. They are out of Oklahoma and were good to do business with. The Vassar Company I bought the blade when I had a JD 318. They were one of the few that offered a cat 0 box blade.

According to the website, Woods doesn't offer bolt on replaceable cutting edges on their estate series box blades and scrape blades.

Are you planning on trying to move lots of dirt or just grade and level some areas? I guess I am the odd ball since I used a 5 foot woods BB5 on my BX1850. Yes a full load of dirt would cause it to spin out but I liked the extra width for grading a path wider then my tires. Had no problems lifting this and usually added a couple 100 lb weights when doing serious loader work.

I also have the United 48" from EverythingAttachments.com. As stated by the others it is well built and priced right, you would be happy with owning one.

I have the 48" LandPride that is made of the BX series. Excellent product.

It is always good to have your implement wider than the track of your tractor so the 5' would be my choice. You can make multiple passes to get the desired depth.

I decided on this 48" box blade from King Kutter, @ 373lbs it's a brute and works with my quick hich. :thumbsup:
