casey--check your PM's, I may have 4' solution for you (depending where in upstate you are)

I have a box with 3 prongs behind my 16hp Kabota. I think its 42" but might be 48" (too cool to go measure this morning.)
I do not find it very handy. With the prongs up the box bounces along the top of hard soil (the tractor has no downward pressure on the 3 pt hitch.)
With the prongs down the dig-in tries to head for China, even compressing the rear tires, raise it a little and make a lump-lower it a little and down it goes. (most of that action is my lack of experience, and setting the valve pressure wrong I admit.)
Also my property is lumpy. I drive down into ditches-dig out with front bucket then fimd myself stuck-with rear bucket hung up on the backside of the ditch. I always get out-but have dug a few furrows to do it.
My advise-get a back-blade that allows up/down tilting and is easily removable. Maybe add a few rake-type teeth to make it bite in.

Knotbored, sounds like you have a very light unit.I have a 48" bb that weights over 600 pounds. I have seen 48" units at about 300 pounds. There isn't any bouncing with mine on my 2230.

Casey, I also echo the recommendation to stay with a 48" attachment. I own both a box blade and an old, heavy back blade. Both do their jobs well but their uses are quite different. All depends on what you want to do. Given your lot size, the box blade may serve you well unless your primary use is to move snow. If you're anywhere around the Binghamton / Vestal NY area, you might want to stop by East Wind tractors to look at both attachments and save yourself some shipping charges. The owner also sells on Ebay and usually will match the Ebay price and then some (if you know what I mean) :D. Here's a link to his web-site:

Thanks to all, your info helps, I will go with the 4' BB. kentrodngun, thanks for the info on East Wind tractor I have been watching this company on E-bay for a while, came close to buying a chinese tractor but found a good deal on a Kioti with low hours and seems to of had a good life. I will give them a call and see what they can do in terms of price. I'am assuming his implements are chinese brand like his tractors? thanks again
