Well, I just got back from the dealer. We mounted up the GB48 on a bare bx. The machine was on a slight incline when I stepped back to look at it. It looked a little close (around 4" from the ground w 3ph fully up) but seemed like an ok fit. Put a foot on the back of the blade while I talked to the salesman and the front end came off the ground /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif!
Sometimes bigger is better doesn't work too well. I guess that I could have put front weights on to counterbalance the weight of the box but..............................
I ordered the Woods GBC48. Still weighs 335 lb., but has a lower capacity and hopefully a shallower box(more clearance and lower cg).
I agree with you regarding the Landpride unit. I called 4 different dealers locally and prices were higher than the Woods gb. From what I remember Landpride is a division of Great Plains Mfg. (?) so every Great plains dealer is a Landpride dealer. Those boys normally sell the big stuff, and don't seem to want to be bothered selling a little box blade.
Thanks everyone for your input. Its great to be able to bounce things off people when you're not sure of something.
