Kubota B2100
Hi Guys, new to the forum and new to tractors in general.

I was able to pick up a Kubota B2100 with FEL for a very good price - so I find myself learning on the fly. 21HP and weight in the neighborhood of 1700lbs I believe... no weighted tires yet (agri. tires FYI)

The rear tires are 42" wide, and looking for a box blade as both an all around good implement and ballast to boot.

It seems a 48" is in my best interest, but I see many more used available if I step up to 60". There is one in particular right near by, King Kutter with the hinged back, and the guy is asking $500.

So, should I hold out for a 48" or jump on the 60" and just take smaller bites?

The weight of the BB doesn't look like the concern - but rather the weight of the accumulated dirt in a full box... right?

My intended uses are homeowner like - grading some parts of my yard, levelling, backfilling... won't see too much abuse.

cnice37, before I had my DK35, I had a MF 1030 which is close to what you have spec wise, it was 2 wheel drive and handled the 5' bb with no issues.

Although occasionally, I would need to engage the diff lock with an overflowing box og heavy mtl, but not often.

Good luck on your decision.

I have a B7510, 22hp, HST w/loaded bar-turf tires. I use a 60" Woods BB, pretty heavy unit. With a full box of dirt it will spin the wheels before it will stall. But I have better luck taking smaller bites anyway. I don't know as a full 48" would be any difference, it's a light tractor for dirt work.

I have a B7500 and found a 54" land Pride was just right.

Jump on the 60 if it's good, you can always sell it later and downsize. My ride came w/ a 48 (see sig) and it seems suited just fine.

When I was landscaping my new house a few years ago using my Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto), I used a 4-ft wide King Kutter box blade. Found this was the ideal size to excavate for paver block walkways.

I suppose my 7510 could have handled a 5-ft BB OK, but I never tried it.

Forgot to mention it is 4wd HST.

It sounds like 60" would work, 48" more ideal.... but the price on that barely used 60" makes it sound like the winner.

Thanks.

I would go for the 60 in, and add some depth control legs.

Found out the box blade listed on CL is an A&B Eagle Line... which according to my searching weighs in around 550lbs.

So... 60", 550lb box blade on a B2100 ?

Sounds like plenty of ballast, just don't want to pay $500 for ballast if I can't pull the thing and use it as a box blade!

Thanks for the help.
