Grading Box Blade Size For MF 1040

Im thinking of getting a box blade for my MF 1040, the tractor has 32 engine HP, Im thinking a 5ft blade would be about right. I have some woops out in my fields that I would like to flatten out, and thought that implement would be the way to go. I can see that alot of you guys use them, and was trying to get some suggestions on size and use. Thanks.

I use a 5' box blade with a 30hp Kubota B2910, your tractor is a bit more powerful and heavier, you could easily handle a 5' box blade. Maybe a 6'?

Scott, Hi and welcome to TBN ,I guess it depends on how big a whoop it is. If you don't have any other means for smoothing out your ground ie: FEL or heavy scraper blade and are looking for a new implement /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif which is always nice! Then yea my vote is for 5' box blade... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif it will make it a much shorter job IMO

Bob and Nasty, thanks for your suggestions. I have a 6ft FEL MF 232 I think, but I thought the scarifiers would help loosen the soil up first and are adjustable. As you can see from the picture I posted in the photo section, we dont have to worry about the fields just yet! Nasty, by the way I like that 471 you have, that looks like the ticket, maybe someday!

I had a MF 1020 with a 6 ft box blade. The tractor had enough HP in low range but weight wise it was very light. I used it for my landscaping business and it did ok for its size.
