Most people from the many people that I have talked to admittedly suffer from "that's good enough syndrome"

You never met my first ex-wife.

you are right, most people get by without these things. ;)

Don't try to butter me up. Nobody likes a pushy salesman.

I would love to have a T&T kit (if just for the Gee-Whiz factor) and even have the 2 remotes out back gathering dust. But the BB is the only implement that would care and I only have a 600' lightly-traveled gravel drive. I got the impression the OP didn't have extensive BB requirements either.

Which is why I asked "just how much". :confused3:

I dont' have a lot of road maintenance, maybe between 1/4 and 1/2 mile. The problem is the prior owner of the property did not know what a BB was. So I was left with a very high crown of 8" or more in places. It appears now that I will go with the ROBB. I would like to have a BB with hydraulic rippers, but too much denero. I priced a new Woods 84HB for $3,000; Woods 84HXD for $3,200 and a Woods 84HSD for $3,300; all complete with cylinder, hoses and pin kit (so I was told). The really bad part is I missed a slightly used Woods 88HXD on CL last week for $1750. Still crying over that one.

That would have been a nice unit to have. I'm sure that you will be happy with a ROBB.

1/4-1/2 mile of road to maintain is nothing to sneeze at. If you want to keep it really nice and be able to do it fast, you really need to consider a LPGS. Again, just about the best implement to maintain most natural material roads IMO. ;)

My suggestion is to find a cheap, used medium duty BB that you can buy cheap enough. Then keep your eyes open for a used heavy duty hydraulic one at the right price, and then sell the other one for most of what you paid for it.

I got lucky and found my Gannon with the hydraulic rippers about 10 miles from my house. I had to buy new hoses for it and have the hydraulic cylinder overhauled, but I'm still in it for about 1/3 the cost of a new one.

Oh, and I'm still Jonesin' for a TNT from Brian. I'll buy that setup eventually, but right now I'm already spending money like a drunken sailor on other stuff that is more of a necessity.

Thanks for the suggestion Pappy. I just missed a used, like new Gannon / Woods 88HXD with hydraulic rippers. A day late as they say.

I also have the 6', 710# Dirt Dog ROBB, along with TNT and would not trade either for anything other than a heavier ROBB in my hard, clay soil. ROBBs are easy to get the hang of using and require little adjustment after one sets up initially. But the TNT makes any further adjustments a piece of cake, especially for us new users and not having to dismount/remount the tractor numerous times using a manual top link in a trial and error manner, to get things just right.
