What is the advantage or disadvantage of having a square back bucket on the front end loader versus the round back?
Kubota sells these two types for the L3970.
Its all new and confusing .

The bucket with the curved back is best to shed sticky dirt and snow, where the flat backed bucket is ment for a lot of loose materials and low wieght loose material as it holds more and packs tighter.

From my perspective, a rounded back will dump more completely, a square back will sometimes not.

You can backdrag with the square back, which is easier on the loader than backdragging with the tip of the bucket. You can also hold some material in the square backed bucket while backdragging with the back, which increases its weight.
