Box scraper use

Howdy,
I'm a new tractor owner and recently purchased a nice JD 4300 with mower and loader. The wife and I just bought 8 acres with a small house. Planted a bunch of mandarin trees and plan to make a bunch of money-- that I can throw back into the "money pit".

I have used a box scraper once, and am planning on buying one. I need recommendations on size and type. The tractor is a 32-HP and I from what I've read, it should handle a 6-footer. I have a top and tilt kit on the tractor and rear wheel spread is apx. 5 + feet. I am looking for a good instructional source on "hou too graid", as I will be putting a driveway along a hillside and making a pad for a new shop.

Any good books, mags, manuals would sure help. Not in too much of a hurry, as we have a new baby that keeps me away from "the other new baby" when the wife is at work.

You'd be able to handle a 6 foot just fine. I use that with my L3010. If you buy a new box blade I think most manuals come with some tips and info on using them but now sure about that. Havn't seen any decent books out there but there are a couple places on the web if you do a search that will help. Also do a search on here. All I learned about box blades I learned here.

The best training material I have found is right here on the forum. We have had many discussions about boxblade use and a search should find you a week or two of reading./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The boxblade can be one of the trickier attachments to use but with top an tilt on your tractor you will be a master in no time. Wish I had it on my tractor.
