Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of renovations at the house lately and all the digging and stuff made a mess of my front yard. I live in a spot that the only thing that grows are rocks! big, little, med....We had to burry 2 12'x12'x12' boulders!!! needless to say I want to level out the front, I tried to get it somewhat even with the FEL but I keep getting snaged on those Fu%^$n rocks. most of the bigger rock ( over 8" dia) are out, and I need to maybe take off 3-6inches on the suface to level up. I was thinking that maybe a box scrapper would do the trick.

It should do the trick. I have a 48" KingKutter that I have used extensively to tear up soil and rocks to level ground. It takes some practice to get good with it, but it is definitely the tool for the job you want to do. You can do finish grading with it too, but its more difficult. I use a 60" landscape rake when I'm done with the box blade to smooth things out nice and even.

I am running a GC2300 with a 6-foot Land Pride Box scraper. At first I thought it was to big but the dealer assured me it was not. He was correct. :)The Lil Red machine handles that 500+ pounds hunk of steel easily.

Practice does make the results better. I am still learning and usually finish off my blading with a 6-foot Brush Hog yard rake.

Good luck,
